Sports federation play a key role in supporting their affiliated clubs or structure on the journey to health promotion. Since decade, they have already taken actions to foster positive Olympic value transmission and to offer programs to enhance the quality of sports experience. To help them developing health promotion and make it visible, the Sports Clubs for Health working group of the Health Enhancing Physical Activity Network has collaborated with the World Health Organisation to create the health promoting sports clubs guidelines.
Composed of four chapter, these guidelines helps sports federation to identify why it is important to promote health and how to do it, get inspired by examples and case studies, get a library of tools fostering health promotion in sport and concrete intervention components to address different evidence driven strategies to improve health promotion.
